Windows 10 Upgrade...

Microsoft has announced that since their Windows 8.1 is such a POS that they are going to let you upgrade to Windows 10 "FREE" for one year.

After which, it won't be free, so get on board right away, because you don't want to be stuck with Windows 8.1.

The Upgrade will be Online, so there is no DVD to buy and at this point they are not sure what the price will be for the DVD.

Their will be a price for the DVD Media, but the Online Update is free.

MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP FIRST!!!

Get all your data backed up to an External Hard Drive, Thumb Drive, DVD, CD, Cloud whatever, but get it backed up before you upgrade.

You can't count on the upgrade going perfect, because you might have software and drivers on your machine that won't be compatible with the upgrade and could corrupt the load.

If this happens, you'll be left with an unusable machine and would have to go back to Factory Settings, Windows 8.1 or worse 8 :-(

BACKUP BACKUP THEN...BACKUP AGAIN, you know the deal kids ;-) If we have taught you anything it's to have 3 three THREE Backups at least, and know there are 6 ways to backup ;-)

The place where you bought your device is going to charge you to upgrade if you take it to them, so if you can, do it yourself :-)

Microsoft Windows 10 is free from Microsoft, but XYZ Company will have to charge you for Labor.

Go to 10, don't think twice about it, get away from 8.1 like a bad habit, you'll be happy you did.

There will always be the drama crowd that will freak out because they won't pay attention to what they are doing and screw their load up and will blame it on MS, so don't listen to them.

quiktip: UNLOAD YOUR MALWARE PROGRAMS BEFORE UPGRADING! Make sure you have your license key first, you may have to email the Malware Vendor for your license key if you didn't save it.
