iOS 10.3 Released...

As we said, 10.3 was about to be release and it is now here...

iOS 3 has been released for iPhone 5 and later, iPad 4th generation and later, iPod touch 6th generation and later...

So far we know that iOS 3 has been loaded on an iPhone 7 and haven't heard of any problems so far...

sidenote: The Update will take about 30 minutes...

iOS 5 users should wait for a bit before upgrading just to make sure there are no bugs that leave you in a vulnerable state, we're keeping an eye on it...

In the meantime catch up on what Apple is talking about it here...

Apple security updates: This document lists security updates for Apple software...

**UPDATE**

Well so far the biggest problem we have heard about is people trying to update their phone without any room to do it...
iPhones don't use SD cards in any of their phones so users are forced to load all their data onto the phone, which leaves very little room to update...

This is one of the main reasons people don't like iPhones, but in our opinion, it's the most organized way to use a phone because you don't have to keep looking around for little chips...

Plus it pushes people to the cloud, and what better way to get people on the cloud then taking away their SD cards, and the cloud is the future unfortunately...

sidenote: You can get 50gb of iCloud storage for 99 cents a month...

It's hard to imagine going from Terabyte hard drives and 25" screens to 16gb hard drives and a 4 1/2" screen :-D, but we are...

Speaking of tiny little things, remember that you need to leave at least 1.5gb of space on your phone in order to receive optimal performance...

If you need more space for an iOS update...

What is the true formatted storage capacity of an iPhone, iPad or iPod - how many songs, films, apps and games can they hold...

**UPDATE**

We've heard that series 6 phones have experienced some slowness after the updates, but 7 seems to be fine, still waiting on the results of 5 series phones...

Which begs the question...do they ever use their phone...

It's just another example of techs being techs and not using their devices like an End User would...

Example: Role Play...

tech: What kind of phone do you have...
end user: I don't know...
tech: go to settings/general/about/Model now tell me what you see...
end user: MN9E2LL/A
tech: okay, so now you know what kind of phone you have...
end user: I don't remember buying a MN9E2LL/A phone of any kind...
tech: well who's phone is it...
end user: It's mine...
tech: But you said that you don't remember buying an MN9E2LL/A phone...
end user: I don't...
tech: well then it must be someone else's phone...
end user: no, it's my phone...

You see where this is going, the answer is iPhone 7, that's the phone they originally purchased, was an iPhone 7, but the eekblokbluke code is MN9E2LL/A which tells the end user NOTHING...

Try to think like an End User from time to time, sure we know that the eedblokbluke code of MN9E2LL/A is an internal product code, but it doesn't help the end user much when they are asked what kind of phone they have...

Here's an idea, just put iPhone 7, (MN9E2LL/A) this way you accomplish both an internal solution and an external solution or a Real World solution...

sidenote: You love using Parenthesis :-) so put the model # in () and preface it with the Friendly name, the end user name, iPhone 7, 6 5 etc...

The other thing we noticed is that you can't hold the arrow key on the text keyboard to capitalize your letters, like a Caps Lock would do...

This is obviously some politically correct thing for Apple to prevent making it easy to YELL on the internet, but remember, techs, that WOOHOO is also another form of yelling, they call it EXCITEMENT...

OOOPS, we made a mistake, because we're a noob :-D Apple does have the ability to do Caps, you have to "double" tap the Arrow, sorry Apple...

**UPDATE**

We now have confirmation on Apple 5s and 5c, and no problems were reported with the latest update...

Apple Fixes 223 Vulnerabilities Across macOS, iOS, Safari...

If you haven't updated yet, it's time you do, just make sure you plug your device in and turn off the autolock, have a nice day...

**UPDATE**

iTunes 12.6 is reporting issues with an unexpected error when it crashes...

If you haven't upgraded your iTunes, but have updated your iOS you're perfectly fine, because iTunes is your backup...

It's best to update your iTunes after you update your iOS because you'll lose your ability to recover from a bad iOS update...

Right now the error is only being reported with Windows 10...

Remember, it's the process we enjoy, Einstein says, "A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new"...

We are now hearing about reports with Windows 7 as well as people having problems with iTunes 12.6 update, but no other Operating System as of yet, coincidence...we think not...

One difference between Apple and Windows users are Apple users don't believe in loading malware prevention for their computers whereas Windows users do, so try to disable your malware program first before upgrading...

What was that...

"Recently" an article came out mentioning that Wearable's are trying to do too much...

Hmmm, now where have we heard that before...oh yeah, right here...

This is exactly what Fitbit needs to focus on, keeping it simple, but simple can be complex...

You heard it here first, and more than likely you'll hear it here first, again...and that's a fact!

**UPDATE**

Just like a Parent to their children, will show them and guide them throughout their young life, but a good parent will know when to step back and let the child live their life in order for them to learn, for nothing is remembered when given, as much as one learns when it is earned...and that's another fact!

Fitbit, it's time you show the world you have what it takes to become what I know you can be, but you have a cloud over your head and this is when one must step away in order to see if what you do is deserved...

5hVnz Book of the Month...

In this forceful manifesto Professor E. D. Hirsch, Jr., argues that children in the United States are being deprived of the basic knowledge that would enable them to function in contemporary society. They lack cultural literacy: a grasp of background information that writers and speakers assume their audience already has. Even if a student has a basic competence in the English language, he or she has little chance of entering the American mainstream without knowing what a silicon chip is, or when the Civil War was fought. An important work that has engendered a nationwide debate on our educational standards, Cultural Literacy is a required reading for anyone concerned with our future as a literate nation...

"Cultural Literacy: What Every American Needs to Know"

Cultural literacy is a term coined by E. D. Hirsch, referring to the ability to understand and participate fluently in a given culture. Cultural literacy is an analogy to literacy proper (the ability to read and write letters).

iOS 10.3 Release Coming Soon...

Just like with any release be cautious of upgrading too soon...

Whether it be Apple, Google or Microsoft, it's always best to err on the side of caution and leave it for the beta testers, youth, technical geeks or just the who cares of crowds...

It will always be easy to update, it's just a click away, but if you have to recover from a click away update, that could take longer and could be catastrophic...

It's best to back up your data before an update of this kind considering that we're going to a new version rather than a revision, currently we are at 10.2.1...

How to back up your iPhone...

How to backup iPhone on a computer

1.Open iTunes and connect your device to your computer.
2.Save content that you downloaded from the iTunes Store or App Store by clicking File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. Then wait for the transfer to finish. (If you're using Windows and you don't see a File menu, hold down the Control and B keys.)
3.If you want to save Health and Activity data from your iOS device or Apple Watch, you’ll need to encrypt your backup: Select the box called Encrypt [device] backup and make a memorable password.

MAC Address randomization security...

We were talking about Mac Address security in 2014 and come to find out that they have already tested these solutions and have proven them not to work...

The problem with using Mac Addresses is that the Mac addresses can be modified, also, its length is not really long enough to prevent brute force attack...

However, they are trying to use it, good luck :-D

Flaws in MAC address randomization implemented by vendors allow mobile tracking...

Our New Phone...

Well well well, we have finally upgraded our Microsoft Windows phone of yore...

If you have followed along you'll know that we have been using the First Windows Smartphone, the Nokia Lumia 900 v. 7.8 Microsoft Phone...

What you didn't know is that we have been watching the price drop on the Lumia 950 for sometime, waiting for it to drop to a reasonable price...

It then dropped from 650.00 to 298.00 after sometime, but even at that price it still wasn't worth it, because you would have to buy the accessories which would make the phone 400.00...

Still not a good value, then they dropped it to 245.00 quite rapidly and thought it was finally going to get to a reasonable value...

A reasonable value for that phone was 99.99 because it had absolutely no market value, nobody was buying that phone and after its target price of 650.00 they have more than made up for the cost it took to produce it...

Even if they hadn't made the money back for their initial investment they needed to sell the phones and it's hard to justify spending over a hundred dollars for a phone that may or may not be scalable...

People want to know that they made a good investment, that the value of the item will continue to improve, but Microsoft wasn't creating that vibe in the market after they bankrupted the Nokia Purchase...

Little was being told to the end users about future updates to its software for it's mobile phone devices and that is uncertainty that your phone would be able to upgrade to the latest advancements of Windows 10...

Especially after Microsoft announced that Windows 10 would only work on devices that met certain hardware and CPU requirements...

That's why this phone should have dropped to 99.00, at least that way you wouldn't feel to bad if it didn't upgrade or not, what's 100.00 bucks in a year...

Their original phone came out at 99.00, the one we had and was cheaper than any other phone on the market at the time and we got 5 years service out of it...

It didn't upgrade to Windows 10 on their latest Windows advancement, but it did at least upgrade the look to appear that it was a Windows 10 phone, and as they say, it's better to look good than to feel good...

In other words, no one's the wiser, and to everyone else it looks like Windows 10, but the engine was not, but who really looks under the hood anymore...

What really pissed us off though was when the price didn't drop past 245.00 and then was taken off all the Shelves at the AT&T stores and was then being sold as a "REFURBISHED" for...245.00...

You could have bought a new phone for 245.00 or now you can buy a refurbished phone for 245.00, now that's about as cheap as you get...

A new phone for 245.00 or a Used Rebuilt phone for the same price, that was tacky, and that is when we knew we had to do something because our phone's battery was getting worse and it wouldn't be cost effective to change out the battery because we would have had to buy a new screen...

At some point no matter how much you like something you have to realize that the repair cost is not a guarantee that it will keep the device operational...

We were already seeing problems with Apps not working and websites not working properly and really just became a GPS and Phone/Texting device for us, nothing else...

Of course you also know, if you've been following along, that we are a Microsoft Brat and because of that, we've completely divested ourselves into believing the Surface phone was just around the corner...

Pet Cemetery 1989: It's like Judd telling Louis that it's not much further now to Pet Cemetery and that Gage has a chance to live again...

We have never given up on Microsoft and have believed everything they have told us, and so would you, if you saw what Bill Gates did when the Government attacked him...

Bill Gates is one smart mofo and you would think that the apple wouldn't fall too far from the tree, but we like you are starting to doubt them...

However, ye of little faith, it was Microsoft that led the revolution of the 64 bit advancement and the breakthrough they created that still stifles the minds of the Hardware inept...

The difference between Hardware and Software is simple, Hardware gets hung up on the semantics of things, and software wouldn't know the difference...

That is exactly why we decided to get an Apple phone :-D it's because if you dice us up, we are hardware, but we have learned to respect software, and that is why we use Microsoft for Apple ;-)...

To be honest we have never had more fun with a device then we have with our New iPhone, it's really trick...

It also helped that we didn't have to pay for this phone, it was given to us by a friend of ours that had an extra just laying around...

It was their way of showing their gratitude for the help we have given them along the way and so we took the phone graciously and humbly...

It was so easy to transfer over all the data, yes we had to load iTunes on our Computer, which we did begrudgingly, but we did it...

What we didn't know is that iTunes has the ability to encrypt your data, that's pretty cool, don't forget your password ;-)...

The Apple Play for the car is Awesome, no more scratched up CD's that skip or jump if you hit a bump...

All the Emoticons are really fun, and the visualization effects you can use to spice up your text messages makes texting fun again...

The problem with Techs is that they criticize end users, but if they were to experience what an End User feels like when they use their device they'll find that it's fun to be an End User...

Remember Techs, if it wasn't for End Users there wouldn't be any need for a tech, so treat them nicer in the future to keep that relationship going...

Apple, contrary to popular belief is a Hardware company, and Microsoft...is the software that runs it...and that's a fact!

A Day Without Women...

Hmmm, a Day Without Women...

Well the first thing we could think of that wouldn't happen on this day is someone yelling from the Bathroom...WHO LEFT THE TOILET SEAT UP!!!

What's funny about this day is that the title of the Day is "A Day Without Women" however, we have never seen more women in one place then we have today...

Do they not get the concept of  "THEIR" campaign? A DAY WITHOUT WOMEN...let that sink in...

Common sense is not a trait that women are gifted with, smarts yes, but common sense, NO, absolutely not...

A day without women, hmmm, well traffic would flow better than it has since the 50's...

The Temp Agencies phone number will be ringing off the hook to fill the position for a day to handle their job while they are gone...

That's where these types of campaigns usually lose their impact, because help is just a call away and your position can be filled faster than you can say, temp...

Sometimes you find out the replacement is better than the person doing the job so don't be surprised to come back to your job only to find a box with your personal effects in it and a pink slip...

Hmmm, a day without women...well there would definitely be less accidents on the road...

Hmmm, a day without women...no more nagging about whatever they constantly nag about, we honestly don't know what they nag about because we've learned not to listen...

Hmmm, a day without women...we'll be able to put our feet up on the coffee table...

Hmmm, a day without women...you can have that friend over she hates so much...

Hmmm, a day without women...you can eat whatever you want...

Hmmm, a day without women...there would no longer be any tension in the room...

Hmmm, a day without women...there would no longer be a line at the grocery store...

Hmmm, a day without women...you'll be able to keep your money...all of it...

Hmmm, a day without women...you'll be able to see your kids again...

Hmmm, a day without women...you'll get your house back...

Hmmm, a day without women...you'll be able to eat whatever you want without having to be told that it's bad for you over and over and over and over and over and over...

Hmmm, a day without women...there would be less crime committed...

Hmmm, a day without women...would be proof that GOD does exist...and that's a fact!

...if you think you'd be missed, you're further out of your mind than we already think you are...and that's another fact!
