PATCH TUESDAY

WOW! It's been a long time since you have seen one of those from us :-D

The second Tuesday of every month is Windows Update time. For now they are free, don't get used to it ;-)

You must do them, they are usually done automatically, but what aren't done are the optional updates.

The optional updates are just as important as the Critical and if not done will be the beginning of corruption on your system.

The reason optional updates aren't done automatically is because Windows includes drivers and proprietary software that not all people want.

You need to know what to install or you need to know who to talk to, but one thing is for certain DON'T LOAD ANY DRIVERS!

Last month we didn't do our updates until the last Friday of last month, but we "Always" do them "Every" month.

We don't believe in loading updates on Tuesday when MS puts them out because they have been known to put out bad updates, so wait until Thursday to do them, or the last Friday of the month :-P

CCleaner Update...

***NAGWARE ALERT***

CCleaner has a new feature added to it's program called monitoring. DISABLE IT! It's a resource hog. All it does is remind you that it's time to clean.

The freeware version only has System Monitoring, but the Pay For has both System and Browser monitoring. DISABLE THEM BOTH!

Open CCleaner, go to Options-Monitoring Uncheck both boxes click Cleaner analyze/run cleaner close :-)

Use your CCleaner at least once a week at minimum.

- Always use it after you finish browsing. That way if you have a power outage the restart won't install unwanted programs.

- Always use it after you went to a bad website or after you log out of your email.

- Always run CCleaner before you shut down or restart!
