Here's an Idea...

The other day a friend of ours got lost and needed to be picked up, but didn't know exactly where they were.

They had a general idea of the area which helped, but to give an exact position was difficult for them and had to walk a ways in order to get to a main street.

We immediately began thinking it would be cool to have a tracking app for our phones that could search out someone.

The SOS app (Search out Someone) type app isn't necessarily a tracking app because nobody wants to be monitored and tracked per se.

No this app would work only for the moment and would be a beacon distress signal to help find the person.

The app would work like the Find my Phone app that locates your phone if lost.

The person would send out a secured line beacon signal from their phone to yours that would grant you secured access to your location.

Once found the beacon is removed from the phones to prevent any future tracking signals.

The other cool feature that we thought of is if someone were really in trouble and didn't know where they were and couldn't move, like an accident of sorts.

The user would send out a beacon to a trusted number that you designate like a spouse or close friend in case of emergency type situations.

The app could be voice activated in case the person couldn't reach their phone, or collision detection monitoring service activation.

The recipient would get a distress call from their phone that would alert them that an accident had happened, then the phone would ring and answer in speaker mode in case they couldn't reach their phone.

The app could also send a beacon to local authorities that are in the area that could pinpoint the person faster if the original person was too far away.

This would expedite the recovery time that might be needed when timing is essential to get to someone if medical help is needed.
