Asus Al Wrote...

"While sitting at your desk, rotate your right foot in a clockwise circle while writing the number 6 with your right hand and your foot will automatically begin moving counter clockwise"

This is in response to our Blog about Satya Nadella the CEO of Microsoft and his left brain Mr. Fixit with a Crescent Wrench or a Croissant limitations.

The limitations of a Left Brain thinker only allow their solutions to be heard and not the solutions of others.

ex. Their is a test that is designed to show you whether or not you are a left brained thinker or right brained thinker and is based on an Image of a 2 dimensional dancer.

If you see the dancer turning to the right, you are right brained thinking, if you see her turning to the left you are left brained thinking.

"The dancer is just a two dimensional image switching back and forth, but our brains process it as a three dimensional spinning object." Steven Novella

...Satya Nadella, Steven Novella...Weird...

Anyway, the whole thing is just an optical illusion like, the Employees of MS and their perception of reality.

You think you are a part of the solution and you think you know what you see, but instead you are just a part of the problem which in turn explains what you actually think and see, understand?

In other words, as long as you think and see Satya Nadella spinning in the direction he wants you to see, everything will be just fine, but if you see it differently, it won't be fine.

This is the Optical Illusion that Satya Nadella lives in and the Irony is - MS is a Software Company, and Satya Nadella is a Hardware Tech.

"We will streamline the engineering process and reduce the amount of time and energy it takes to get things done. You can expect to have fewer processes but more focused and measurable outcomes. You will see fewer people get involved in decisions and more emphasis on accountability." ...New hires will be made. Processes will be simplified. And if you want to thrive at Microsoft and make a world impact, you and your team must add numerous more changes to this list that you will be enthusiastic about driving." S.N.

In other words, if we may quote from Chevy Chase and his Memorable Fletch Movies - "Oh c'mon guys, it's so simple, maybe you need a refresher course. It's all ball bearings these days."

In Conclusion this is what Steven Novella surmised - "When our brains process visual images to make some order or sense of the world, they have to make assumptions. The dancer is just a two dimensional image switching back and forth, but our brains process it as a three dimensional spinning object. Depending on the assumptions made and visual cues picked up, your brain can make the dancer spin either way. "

"Dogs are better friends than people...More loyal, less complaints, and trainable" TKO

Maybe Satya would be better off if he just got a Dog ;-)...and that's a fact!

**UPDATE**
Well it looks as though someone learned something from your book Meg, because MS has now raised it's layoffs to 18,000 people worldwide. He's catching up to you Meg, you better start finding some more cuts, or you're going to be dethroned ;-) HP is up to something like 36,000 employees that have been laid off because HP doesn't have anything for them to do.

We love this part in Satya's statement to their Employees: You will see fewer people get involved in decisions and more emphasis on accountability." So in Employees terms that means that if your ideas suck Satya, that you'll only have yourself to blame and you'll have to be accountable for your actions, but we know that's not going to happen. What he really means is that if his ideas don't work it will be because the employees screwed it up somehow, because Satya's ideas are full-proof...:-D What a Prick! The employees that are leftover better make sure that they record everything and read between the lines, because we live in a Dog Eat Dog World!

As for the 18,000 jobs that are being cut (most ever for MS) is just a buffer for Satya. He's way out of his league and all he is trying to do is buy some time to read up on those CEO manuals for Dummies. The nice thing is that Bill Gates is still there to mentor and give direction, because if he wasn't, Satya wouldn't know what to do...and that's a fact!

  1. I knew only "5hVnz ON!" could answer such a simple question and you did
or did you? Asus Al :-)

  2. It's a good question that has many answers and leaves you wondering at the same time, which coincidently is like doing two things at once. Another example would be poly-rythms - "Polyrhythm is the simultaneous use of two or more conflicting rhythms, that are not readily perceived as deriving from one another, or as simple manifestations of the same meter." Wiki. Our abilities are far more complex as infants and the older we get, we become not so complex due to the restrictions we let our mindz tell us. Just being able to make it to the bathroom when we get older will be our most defining moment as Humans, but even then there is hope. So, the question is - Can Satya, be a Left Brained Hardware Tech and a Right Brained CEO at the same time, sure he can, but he is going to have to practice every-single-day...and that's a fact!
