Microsoft Midates...

Midates are when Microsoft needs to patch their program due to a security vulnerability.

Apparently IE was vulnerable to an Attack, if you didn't have it set up right :-(

For those of you that didn't have your IE setup right, you might be at risk of infection. Best to let a professional take a look at it ;-)

Otherwise, if you didn't get infected and didn't have your internet explorer setup right, won't matter, because Microsoft patched it.

So what does that mean?  It means don't worry about the check marks, because MS has your back :-D

Don't you hate those people that just ride along without a seat belt, drinkin' a beer, goin' a hundred miles an hour and "NUTHIN" happens to em?

It's how it works sometimes, as for the "rest" of us, buckle up :-) It's the Law :-P

I still believe that you need to have your Updates turned off. The reason being is that you don't want a blue screen of death when you need your system the most.

BTW- In case this happens to you, just hit F8 before the system boots up and choose "Last Known Good Configuration' (advanced)"

You don't want to log into a system when it crashes, you'll want to choose last known blah blah to restore a good configuration.

It's not that you fell, because that's gonna happen. It's how you fall, that make the difference...and that's a fact!

**UPDATE**
That is why we use DW. DW is the only Platinum award winning Zero Day defense program, but that's changing due to 64 bit. Kaspersky and Emsisoft, Morespam or McCrashy users wouldn't have been protected against it :-( and on that note, neither would MBAM be able to prevent it. No antivirus program could have prevented it. Kaspersky and Emsisoft say they they have a Zero day defense ability, but we highly doubt it. They might have a 64 bit capable software, but they don't have the solution to KPP (Kernel Patch Protection (KPP), informally known as PatchGuard) Anyway, all the Antivirus companies all have their patches now, so it would be best to do a deep scan of your system. Clean out your Quarantined Folders. It's renewal time, so check your subscriptions and get them up to date ;-) and we reiterate, if you had your programs setup properly you wouldn't have been affected. Regardless of zero day protection...and that's a fact! However, if life were perfect we wouldn't have to worry about such nonsense...or is it? Ubuntu doesn't need Malware Protection ;-but where have we heard this before...Apple. UNIX/Linux secure, GUI is not...and that's a fact!
